Here we have Maggie a 4 year old KC registered and fully health tested springer spaniel looking for an incredibly special home, she is super loving and loyal!
Maggie came to us originally from a gundog home in Scotland, where she was treated as your typical gundog, she lived in an outdoor kennel and worked on shoots, unfortunately Maggie started to eat the game so was no longer suitable for her role.
Maggie is the most loving and snuggly girl, she will lay for belly rubs all day, she even smiles! she is an intelligent girl who needs an spaniel experienced home who is willing to put in the time with training she will need to adapt to a new family, she can resource guard her food from other dogs and has occasionally with humans (she has never snapped or bitten but has had 1 or 2 grumbles when eating from her bowl if your filling up water etc for example next to her) however this has been intermittent and maybe only once a year, so with regular training this can be nipped in the bud quickly now doubt! She is fine with toys and LOVES play fetch and searching for her toys.
As she has come from a working home and living in kennels she needs training in some pet areas, she has already mastered chilling with a film and hasnt displayed seperation anxiety, however, should you leave a sandwich on the table and head out, no doubt she would take a bite! teaching her to settle in a house She has had recall training with us, knows sit, stay and the basics but will need to continue this proofing with her new handler/family however we are more than happy to help with this and support her new home.
Maggie is confident but soft natured and needs an experienced home where she can flourish, she is not destructive or noisy just very cuddly and loving!
She is crate and kennel trained so could live inside or out (if heated), she has an incredible nose so would excel in doing some pet scent work to keep her stimulated and keep that working brain going! We have done some and she searches and sits or points when she finds her toy.
Maggie is your typical springer she is full of energy so does need an active life, but also loves to snuggle up and watch and a film on the sofa!
Maggie could live with another dog but she can very rarely be grumpy with other dogs, she has been in our pack and got on great with all, she has been walked in groups as small as 2 up to 20, but 1 of our dogs for some reason she does not like and will actively try to start arguments with her. On a walk she will be more focused on a ball than other dogs, but often enjoys a sniff and meet, again 1 in every 20 dogs she can take a disliking to, so she would be able to live with another dog however a condition of her adoption would be an introduction(s) before going home.
Magge is so loyal once bonded will be at your foot, but will need that time to bond with her new owners, doing games and training is the fastest way to maggies heart! Oh and a ball!
Maggie is kennel club registered and DNA health tested
She is not neutered at the moment (may be by the time of her adoption) or will come with a neutering contract and her KC will be restricted from breeding, she is up to date with flea and worming treatments and is currently restarting her vaccinations so will be available to go to her new home after the 3rd February.
